Shenzhen traffic police unveiled a package of measures Monday to ensure smooth traffic and prevent crowds from gathering in public places as local businesses are resuming production.
The new measures allow cars to park along nonbusy roads near housing estates and urban villages, which have adopted closed-management policies that ban cars from entering. Drivers will not be fined for illegal parking on the condition that they don’t disrupt traffic.
Police have set up an around-the-clock hotline at 8333-3333 for inquires and send road traffic updates to drivers through road map navigation operators. Truck drivers can apply for business permits online and minor traffic accidents can be handled through video uploads.
For vehicles running frequently between Shenzhen and other Pearl River Delta cities, drivers simply need to register their information the first time — as opposed to each time — when entering or leaving the city.
